Opened in July 2025, the Rowan Gate Lodge at Mount Congreve is a newly restored 18th-century retreat offering refined comfort and a truly dog-friendly experience in the heart of Ireland’s countryside.

Tucked within the historic Mount Congreve Estate, Rowan Gate Lodge offers direct access to the Waterford Greenway—a scenic 46km trail ideal for long dog walks and riverside adventures.

Inside, the lodge combines period charm with thoughtful modern touches. The fully fitted kitchen features oak countertops, heritage-style cabinetry, and all you need for relaxed self-catering. In the living room, warm wall panelling, a heritage sofa = two heritage armchairs, and a discreetly integrated Smart TV create a cozy space to unwind after a day exploring.

The lodge includes one beautifully appointed bedroom, complete with an antique double bed, Irish linens, and Georgian-inspired details. The modern bathroom features a walk-in shower—perfect after a muddy trail day.

Unique to Rowan Gate Lodge is its own dedicated dog room—a cosy space tailored for your pup to relax, complete with dog beds, bowls, and thoughtful touches to make your pet feel right at home.

While dogs (except guide dogs) aren’t permitted in the main Mount Congreve Gardens due to biodiversity protection, the new dog-friendly Wetlands Walk near the estate entrance offers a peaceful, nature-filled alternative.

Guests enjoy complimentary access to the estate’s world-renowned gardens and can also visit the dog-friendly Stables Café and FOXFORD gift shop on-site.
