Dunmore House Hotel

Welcome to Dunmore House, a very special place on the shores of Clonakilty Bay!

My family and I have called this beautiful coastal house our home since 1934. My great grandparents relocated their young family from a nearby residence in Lyre/Ahiohill to farm the land at Dunmore. My great grandmother is often remembered for saying “there is nothing here but water” when describing her new home.
Our gardens sit on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean on the Wild Atlantic Way. Our Cliff Garden, with panoramic views over Clonakilty Bay, has gravelled walkways, Hammocks, outdoor sculpture by local artist Moss Gaynor and restful seating areas hidden amidst rolling dune grasses with native coastal planting for you to enjoy. Our Ocean Garden – our Kitchen Garden – is a gentle stroll from the Cliff Garden. We have polytunnels, extensive outdoor raised bed areas with culinary herbs, seasonal salads and edible flowers.

Led by Neal, along with Justine, Roisin and Finbarr, our horticulture team use permaculture principles with a dedicated, active composting area using seaweed and other natural manures. We utilise companion planting to increase fertility and to assist with biodiversity in our exciting and innovative garden.
We have 30 guest bedrooms in the heart of West Cork that are individually decorated, complimented by the Atlantic coastline. We finished each room with a selection of handmade oak, ash and elm furnishings, Voya Irish organic products and Hanly Irish cashmere rugs.

These are ground floor spacious rooms, perfect for you and your special guest! A balcony with views of the Wild Atlantic Way and walk in showers ensure a comfortable stay. All dog friendly rooms are superior oceanview rooms.
